New mum Helen Flanagan could be set to star on the Corrie cobbles again
Exciting news, Coronation Street fans – Helen Flanagan could be making a return to Weatherfield’s famous cobbled streets as temptress Rosie Webster.
New Corrie boss Kate Oates starts her job in January and reportedly wants a trio of famous cast members to return to the soap to boost ratings – also naming Keith Duffy, who played Ciaran McCarthy, and Georgia Taylor who played Toyah Battersby.
An insider at the show said:
‘Kate was going on about how excited she was to join the cast and crew in January and saying she couldn’t wait to get her teeth into the show.
‘She loved the idea of bringing Toyah back and said there would be endless opportunities for the character to be exploited after being away for so long.
‘The same went for Rosie. She said again there would be loads of terrific storylines.’
Ooh, we can imagine. When she was on the soap Helen tackled storylines like being kidnapped and held hostage.
The insider added to The Sun that: ‘All three are well-loved characters and getting any of them back would be hugely popular with Corrie fans.’
Helen previously said that she’s open to returning to the show in future.
‘You can never say never. Who knows what will happen in the future? I love Coronation Street.
‘I was on the show for 12 years and was fortunate enough not to be killed off on the show, so there’s always a chance of going back.’
She added: ‘I would like Rosie to come back with a bang. She’s been away in London doing modelling so she probably thinks she’s a bit above everyone… it would be great if she came back with a baby. I’d love that.’
Seeing as Helen’s a new mum to baby Matilda, she’d be perfect at playing Rosie with a baby in tow…
Go on Helen, you know you want to go back to Corrie!
